Dr. Matthew Mazurek

I was born and raised in Fresno, California and attended Fresno State University, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature prior to going to medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, a top five medical school which offered me many educational and research opportunities.

I am a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and have been in practice since 2005. I have always led a very active lifestyle including hiking, running and weight lifting. I met Terry Mamalis in 2008 when I hired him for personal training to tailor a weight training program. The results of our partnership allowed me to complete the world’s toughest road marathon in Tucson, Arizona—the Mt. Lemmon Marathon in 2010. Several months later, I competed in a body building show in Sierra Vista, Arizona—the Copper Classic.

As a physician, I am keenly aware of what it takes for individuals to improve their lifestyle including fitness, diet and changing the mind-body connection. Many primary care physicians today simply tell their patients to lose weight. It’s not easy, and most diet programs don’t include an exercise routine or factor in medical conditions or social situations which can influence someone’s success.

The road to change and transformation is a personal journey, and our philosophy is simple: everyone needs an individual program with expert personal training and compassionate, medical guidance and support. We look forward to working with you.
